Bogolea holds a bachelor of science in computer science and engineering from Pennsylvania State University, where he later returned as an entrepreneur in residence.2
He spent 10 years in the energy and wireless sensor industry, most recently at Silver Spring Networks, leading global product management and business development for its energy management and data analytics platform.2
Simbe and Tally
He co-founded Simbe with Mirza Akbar Shah and Jeff Gee, and in November 2015 brought Tally to market as an autonomous shelf auditing robot. The National Retail Federation Foundation named him to its list of People Shaping Retail's Future.1,2
Simbe reported more than 3,000 units under contract in 2026, across more than 75 retail banners.3
