Google, Microsoft, SpaceX, and Relativity
Mehr has spent his career at the intersection of manufacturing and artificial intelligence. After working at Google and Microsoft, he joined SpaceX in 2014 as a software and control engineer.1
In 2016 he was part of the founding team at Relativity Space, the Long Beach company that 3D prints rockets, but grew frustrated with bottlenecks in metal 3D printing.1
Machina Labs
In 2019 Mehr co-founded Machina Labs with Babak Raeisinia to form metal with AI-guided robots instead of dies. He has said the company is building factories that can be reconfigured through software alone.1
He led the $124 million Series C in February 2026, which funds a large factory that will first produce missile structures and airframes.2,3
