Ohio State, Carnegie Mellon, and Stanford
Kalouche earned a bachelor's degree with honors in mechanical engineering from Ohio State University in 2014, winning its Outstanding Undergraduate Research Award. He completed a master's in robotics at Carnegie Mellon in 2016.1,2
At Carnegie Mellon he developed low-cost quasi-direct-drive actuators for agile legged robots. He then began a PhD at Stanford in Fei-Fei Li's lab, researching imitation learning for robot manipulation, before pausing it to found Nimble.3,1
Nimble
Kalouche built Nimble around robots that can pick and pack anything, then expanded it into fully autonomous fulfillment centers. Forbes named him to its 30 Under 30 list for manufacturing and industry in 2021.1
In 2024 he closed a strategic alliance with FedEx, saying it would help FedEx use Nimble's fulfillment centers and general-purpose warehouse robots.4
We're thrilled to be engaging in this multifaceted alliance with a logistics industry leader like FedEx to pioneer and scale autonomous fulfillment.FedEx Newsroom, September 5, 2024
