Founding SS Innovations
Srivastava started SS Innovations in 2014 with a team of 10 engineers and has said he put about $7.5 million of his life savings into it. A 2022 Business Standard report put the SSi Mantra at less than a third of the price of Intuitive's da Vinci system.2
The company describes the SSi Mantra as a way to bring robotic surgery to underserved populations by making it affordable and accessible.1
Taking the SSi Mantra abroad
By June 30, 2026, the SSi Mantra had 224 systems installed in twelve countries and 12,272 surgeries performed, including cardiac, pediatric, and long-distance telesurgery cases.3
In October 2026 the company answered an FDA request for more information on its 510(k) submission, the step toward selling in the US.4
