Our take
Remebot is one of the two companies that lead China's neurosurgical robot market. Its frameless positioning robots grew out of Beihang University research that began in the late 1990s, and eight neurosurgical variants now hold Class III approval from China's NMPA.2,6
The deployment record is strong for its home market: more than 400 hospitals and more than 40,000 procedures as of 2024, and 52 neurosurgical robots sold in 2025. The weak points for a buyer outside China are no FDA or CE clearance on record and no public prices.2,4
Scores by criterion
Each criterion is defined on our methodology page.
Who uses Remebot and what it's for
Tertiary and county-level hospitals in China use Remebot robots for stereotactic neurosurgery such as hematoma aspiration, biopsy, deep brain stimulation, and SEEG, and dental clinics use its implant robot.2
The company says its business covers all 31 provinces and regions of China and that it has supported tens of thousands of operations; its first overseas installation was in Kazakhstan in March 2024.1,2
History
Remebot was founded in Beijing in 2010 by Liu Da, a graduate of Professor Wang Tianmiao's robotics lab at Beihang University. The lab completed a robot-assisted frameless stereotactic operation in 1999, the technology behind Remebot's first product.2,6
Its first neurosurgical robot received NMPA approval in 2018, the first in China. In December 2020 it raised a 430 million yuan, or about $66 million, Series D led by Zhongguancun Longmen Investment.2,5
Neurosurgical and dental robots
The neurosurgical line fuses CT, MRI, PET, and DTI images and positions instruments to within 0.5 mm, with patient registration in under two minutes. Variants run from the RM-200 for large hospitals to the RM-50 series for hemorrhagic stroke care in smaller hospitals, and the platform supports nearly 100 procedures in 12 categories.2
The Remebot Dental robot, approved in 2021 as China's first oral surgery robot, is a semi-active system that tracks patient movement at 1,000 Hz and controls the drill once the surgeon guides it into the mouth. A subsidiary, Beijing Ruiyibo Technology, runs the dental line.3
Pricing
Remebot does not publish prices. Hospitals buy systems through tenders and direct sales.2,4

Limits
Prices are not published.2
Approvals on record are from China's NMPA; we found no FDA clearance or CE mark for its robots.3
Revenue is not disclosed. We estimate it at $15 million to $30 million, based on 52 neurosurgical robots sold in China in 2025 plus its dental robot line. This is an estimate, not a reported figure.4,3
What customers say
Where it helps
Hospitals doing frameless stereotactic procedures can use one system across hematoma aspiration, biopsy, DBS, and SEEG, and the RM-50 series is aimed at stroke care in smaller hospitals.2
Remebot says its core parts, including optical tracking and robot arms, are made domestically, which it presents as a way to lower cost for primary care hospitals.2
Where it falls short
Hospitals outside China and Central Asia will find little local support, and dental practices in the US and Europe have cleared options such as Neocis Yomi or navigation systems from X-Nav and ClaroNav.
