From MAKO Surgical to Neocis
In 2008 Mozes and Juan Salcedo, both principal engineers at orthopedic robot maker MAKO Surgical, saw an opening for robotics in dentistry and began designing a prototype. They founded Neocis in Miami in 2009, and Fred Moll led its first funding round in 2012.1
Growing Yomi
Under Mozes, Yomi won FDA clearance in 2016 and passed 10,000 implant cases by 2022, when the company had 140 employees.1,2
Clinicians passed 100,000 osteotomies with Yomi by January 2026, and in October 2026 Yomi S was cleared for pterygoid implants.3,4
In 2023 Neocis raised $20 million more, with Mirae Asset and NVIDIA's NVentures among the investors.5
The latest investment is a testament to our growth as a company and how far dental robotics has come since the first Yomi systems were installed.Neocis, January 10, 2024
