Career in energy technology
Lamont began his career as a mechanical engineer with Schlumberger, with technical and leadership roles across Europe, Asia, and Australia.1
He later served as president of Global Subsea Systems at Vetco International and led offshore service companies as CEO, including Proserv and ROVOP.1
Leading Square Robot
Lamont joined Square Robot in 2020. Since then the company has passed 400 tank inspections and, in December 2025, added Marathon Petroleum as an investor and development partner.1,2,3
In September 2026 the company won the NIOSH Prevention through Design Award for its SR-3 robot and Side Launcher system.4
